Honda Dominates 2025 Baja 500: Double Victory for SLR and Red Bull Talon Factory Teams

2025 Baja 500 ENSENADA, Mexico – June 9, 2025
The rugged terrain of the Baja Peninsula proved no match for Honda-backed teams this past weekend, as they stormed to victory in both two- and four-wheel divisions of the grueling 57th SCORE Baja 500.

Despite brutal weather conditions marked by heavy rain and dense fog, SLR Honda claimed the Pro Moto Unlimited crown aboard their CRF450X, while Red Bull Honda Talon Factory Racing secured the win in the Pro UTV Normally Aspirated (NA) class with their Talon 1000R.

Pro Moto Unlimited: SLR Honda Adds to Its Legacy

SLR Honda’s dynamic duo—Tyler Lynn and Carter Klein—powered through the 461-mile 2025 Baja 500 with skill and grit. Lynn kicked things off from Ensenada at 3:30 a.m. in complete darkness, carving through nearly 210 miles before handing the bike off to Klein. From there, Klein charged north along the Pacific coastline to race mile 380, where Lynn reclaimed the bike and crossed the finish line with a total time of 9 hours, 18 minutes, 23 seconds—a lead of over 10 minutes.

This marks Honda’s 24th overall two-wheel victory in Baja 500 history.

“The conditions were really harsh, with heavy fog and rain, but everyone performed great,” said SLR team owner Mark Samuels. “I’m very proud of how the team and riders managed this win.”

Pro UTV NA: Red Bull Talon Shocks the Field

In only his first Baja race, Corbin Leaverton, piloting the Red Bull Honda Talon Factory Racing Talon 1000R, proved he belongs on the world’s toughest stage. With Cavan Freeman and Isaac Torres navigating as co-drivers, Leaverton battled through deep mud, limited visibility, and fierce competition to claim 2025 Baja 500 victory with a final time of 12 hours, 6 minutes, 41 seconds.

The Raceco-backed Team Pedder Racing Talon 1000R driven by Ricky Torres followed closely, finishing just 6 minutes and 24 seconds behind.

“Corbin had never raced Baja before, so he wasn’t on a lot of people’s radars,” said team owner Jeff Proctor. “But after pre-running all week in a stock Talon, we knew he was ready. His race craft really shined through under extreme conditions. It’s incredibly rewarding to bring home another ‘W’ for Honda.”

More Wins for Red Riders

Honda riders also claimed provisional wins across multiple classes, including Pro Moto 30, Pro Moto 40, Pro Moto Limited, Pro Moto Ironman, Sportsman Moto, Pro Quad, and Sportsman Quad. Meanwhile, Jeff Proctor’s Honda Passport team took second in the 2WD Trophy Truck category, with Ethan Ebert behind the wheel.

2025 Baja 500 Next Stop: The Baja 1000

As the dust settles from the Baja 500, attention now turns to November’s Baja 1000, where many of these same teams will once again face off in one of off-road racing’s most legendary challenges.
