I'm going to try out some of the trails in the Ocala National Forest. Has anyone got any suggestions or advice? Like which trail to try or which to avoid? I'll be in a stock 2013 Ranger 900XP. Just my baby brother (he's 66) and me going for a long (long to us, anyway) ride. We want to have some fun but not looking to be dragged out of mud pits and stuff.
Thanks.

Me and a friend have the same idea about trying the Ocala National Forest trails.
We are just waiting for hunting season to end on 1/19/20. I heard it was a pretty active area for hunting and don’t want to get caught in the crossfire or pis off some guy in a deer stand as we cruise by.
Let me know if you go anytime soon. I plan to go sometime this month for sure.
Thanks,

One of you might know Victor from Wild West Guns on Lane ave. He used to ride the Ocala trails often with his family on 4 wheelers. He’s a great guy and he would give you good solid advice. Salute to Florida I’m now back home in Texas!

Coach,
Thanks. Don't know Victor but I do know Wild West Guns. I'll stop in the next time I pass by and him.

Twincamanx3,
Currently, it's looking like my brother and I will try out the Forest on Thursday, Feb 27.

How did your trip go? I went yesterday 7/24 and rode the north section of the longleaf trail. Lotsa whoops and sugar sand had a good ride. The trails aren't directional, so keep that in mind when rolling through a blind corner.

I live fairly close to the Rodman Dam trailhead (Lake Ocklawaha) so we usually do the big loop around Lake Delancy. Not a lot of mud but plenty of soft sand and sugar sand. I use the Polaris Ride command app to keep track of where I'm at and it has been spot on accurate for a map out there. Last couple of weeks there has been some trail maintenance crews in random spots.
