Kawasaki is making waves in the UTV racing world with the announcement of RWD Racing Kawasaki, a new team set to compete in the UTV Pro Open Class at select races in 2025. With high expectations and a cutting-edge race machine, the team will kick off its season at the legendary Mint 400 in Primm, Nevada, on March 6-7, 2025.

A Winning Partnership

Russ Wernimont Designs (RWD) and Kawasaki joined forces in 2021, immediately proving their dominance in the off-road racing scene. With driver Carson Wernimont behind the Kawasaki Teryx KRX®1000, the team secured numerous wins and championships in the naturally aspirated UTV Pro NA class. In 2025, RWD Racing Kawasaki is stepping up to the highly competitive UTV Pro Open class with a custom-built side x side featuring a revolutionary supercharged engine developed by Kawasaki.

Kawasaki’s Supercharged Powerhouse

Kawasaki Racing has pioneered supercharged engine technology, pushing the limits across various powersports platforms. A decade of innovation led to creating the 300+ horsepower Kawasaki Ninja H2®R motorcycle in 2015. Now, that same engineering expertise is channeled into the UTV world by introducing a new 999cc in-line four supercharged engine, a key component of Kawasaki’s Project H2.

The debut of this groundbreaking machine at The Mint 400 marks an exciting milestone for Kawasaki Racing and the RWD Racing team. With cutting-edge engineering and relentless testing, the team is ready to take on the brutal desert terrain and battle for the podium.

The Road to The Mint 400

Carson Wernimont and his co-driver Brady Kelly will hit the track for qualifying on Thursday, March 6th, in Primm, NV.
